Intellectual Property Policy

As a space for creative original makers, Saponato believes very strongly in intellectual property rights.  Saponato follows intellectual property laws, as well as best practices of the industry to ensure that we maintain the veracity of this creative marketplace.  Our intellectual Property Policy lays out how we treat allegation of infringement, how to report infringement of content in the Saponato marketplace, and how an authorized Seller can respond to a listing or their shop is affected by such a report.

This policy is part of our Terms of Use.  By listing handmade items for sale on the Saponato site, you are agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

Our Role

Saponato is a marketplace made up of individual third-party sellers.  These third-party sellers run their shops, create their own policies and procedures, have sole responsibility for their inventory, shipping, and complying with all laws.  Saponato provides and maintains a venue for the third-party sellers, we do not manufacture any goods or hold any inventory or ship any items on behalf of our sellers.  Content generated and uploaded in the Saponato marketplace by independent third-party sellers are not employees, agents, or representatives of Saponato.  The independent third-party sellers have the obligation and responsibility for ensuring that they have all of the necessary and required rights to their content and that they are not infringing on or violating any third-party’s rights by posting such content.

Saponato has and reserves the right to disable any listing, shop or account that we believe is in violation of our Terms of Use, which includes this Intellectual Property Policy and / or our Prohibited Items Policy.  Saponato also has and reserves the right to take action against abusers and / or violators of Saponato’s Intellectual Property Policy or our Terms of Use.

Saponato does not and cannot speak for or on behalf of intellectual property owners, and Saponato does not have the capacity to or the ability to offer legal advice or make any decision as to whether a shop’s content infringes on someone else’s intellectual property. Saponato will remove material(s) that are documented for alleged intellectual property infringement when we are provided with such a report which complies with our policies.
